Wabanaki Alliance

Support the Wabanaki Alliance

The Wabanaki Alliance was formed in 2020 when the Mi’kmaq Nation, Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, Passamaquoddy Tribe, and Penobscot Nation, joined together to work to improve upon the 1980 Maine Indian Claims Settlement Act (MISCA) and educate the public on tribal histories and communities.

While MICSA’s restrictions have resulted in decades of social and economic barriers for the Wabanaki people and surrounding communities, thanks to the partnership of generous supporters like you, we have made great strides in educating the people of Maine about this injustice and advocating for recognition of the inherent sovereignty of our Wabanaki Nations and learning about tribal communities in Maine.

We have built many relationships on both sides of the political aisle, but our work is far from complete. Your donation will support the Wabanaki Alliance’s ongoing work to make sovereignty a reality and educate the public about tribal communities.

If you wish to donate by check, please make it payable to Wabanaki Alliance and mail to:
