Why give to the WCDP?

America is at a crossroads, and Michigan is in the middle of the intersection. In 2026, Michiganders must elect a Democratic senator to take the seat being vacated by Gary Peters, and we must elect a Democratic Governor, Attorney General, and Secretary of State who have the strength and will to stand up to the malfeasance of the Trump administration. We must also regain control of the Michigan House, and retain control of the Michigan Senate.

These wins will not guarantee that freedom and democracy prevail in America, but without them our future is darker.

In 2026, WCDP volunteers created and delivered more than 100,000 Voter Guides; created and promoted the innovative electronic voter guide MIvoter.org; knocked tens of thousands of doors; and posted hundreds of volunteers at polling sites to distribute slate cards on election day.

And it paid off! The margin for Harris-Walz in Washtenaw was the highest in the state, at +44. We posted more than double the Dem votes per person than any other county. And we were instrumental in electing Elissa Slotkin to the US Senate; Kyra Harris Bolden and Kimberly Ann Thomas to the Michigan Supreme Court; S. Kerene Moore as judge in the 15th District for Ann Arbor; and Jinan Hamood as judge in the 22nd Circuit for the county.

This cycle, we must do even more. Volunteers will gladly do the work – nobody gets paid around here – but we need funds for rent, printing, materials, and software. Please give as much you can, and thank you for being part of our essential work!
