Flip the House! Support the Westside Democratic HQ

The Heart of L.A. Democratic Club, in in partnership with other L.A.-area Democratic clubs and activist groups, has launched a Westside Democratic Headquarters (the “HQ”), specifically for the purpose of flipping red districts in California blue. The national Democratic Party considers several races in Southern California "must wins" in order to flip the House, which in turn is critical to stopping the Trump administration from continuing on its path of destruction. The HQ is the primary location for all efforts to "export" work from the Westside of Los Angeles to these districts, and beyond.

 

The HQ is located in a 2,100 square foot space in Westwood, and has been operational full time since June 1.

Phone calls: As of August 24, volunteers have participated in 930 phone bank shifts. During the month of July, volunteers made more than 60,000 calls to voters in the 9 flippable districts in California.

Canvassing and Voter Registration: the HQ has recruited hundreds of volunteers to participate in canvassing events to nearby districts. On August 25, a bus full of volunteers went ot Orange County to canvass for Harley Rouda, and the HQ will continue to hold mid-month and GOTV canvassing to these districts through the November election.

The HQ has also hosted other events such as the Swing Left Training Academy, a Primary Night party, Democratic Club meetings (including HLA), and several candidates have come by to meet volunteers with more planned to visit in the near future.
