The coalition agreement negotiated by Prime Minister Netanyahu and Benny Gantz could allow the government to move forward with the annexation of large swaths of the West Bank at any moment.
Let's be clear: Annexation would be disastrous for Israel's democracy, Palestinian rights and for prospects for a negotiated two-state solution. It would destabilize the region and -- critically at this moment -- poison cooperation between Israel and the Palestinians in combating COVID-19.
So we're going to fight like hell to stop annexation from moving forward.
We're waging a major campaign within the US and in concert with our Israeli allies to demonstrate broad international opposition to annexation and make it clear that US support for such moves will evaporate when Trump is defeated this November.
This is a critical moment for everyone who cares about the fundamental rights of Palestinians and Israel's future as a democratic, Jewish homeland.
Please help make sure we have the resources we need to lead this fight.
