Wear Orange was started by friends of Hadiya Pendleton, a 15 year old Chicago student killed just days after dancing with her school in the President's Inaugural parade. Orange is the color hunters wear to "be seen and stay safe". That's why we Wear Orange, to honor her life and remind us that to be truly free, we should all be safe in America. Hadiya's 20th birthday would be June 2, 2017; hundreds of thousands of Americans will #WearOrange to show support for a future free from gun violence.
This year Moms Demand Action is having our own campaign to support our work in prevention with programs like our BeSMART campaign to stop unintentional shootings of children, 7 a day in America; to support our on going work with state legislatures for common sense gun laws & to elevate the voices of survivors of gun violence.
Please contribute to support gun sense policies and invest in the women who will lead us to a future free from gun violence.
