Lower Manhattan has been my home my whole life. I am the son of immigrants, my father Chinese and my mother Brazilian. I grew up on East Broadway, went to PS 124 and CPC. I still live here, and lead a community of 5,000 in the Seward Park Cooperative.
Public school teachers, my parents taught me to use my aptitude and education to be successful—and to use my success to stand up for my community, for what is right and just, and to lend my voice to my neighbors who might not otherwise be heard.
I am ready to bring that voice to Albany and fight vigorously for our rights -- for healthcare, safety, public schools, immigration, green spaces, and our seniors aging in place.
As a lifelong Democrat, I have practiced law in New York for over 25 years, and have always stood up for my clients and my constituency. I have been an advocate, a writer, a teacher, a negotiator and consensus-builder.
Our community needs someone with those proven skills to have strong representation in the State Assembly, someone who can hit the ground running as your legislator.
I’ve worked closely with our elected officials in my roles on State Committee and as a community leader on the Lower East Side -- and look to build on that formidable partnership to be effective in Albany. With your help, we can make that happen.
Thank you for your support!
