It's Official: Jim is Running!
Jim Wertz is a union leader, teacher, and former chair of the Erie County Democratic Party.
The son of a single mother growing up in a working class community in Southeast, PA, Jim moved to Erie to attend Edinboro University. Developing an immigrant's love of an immigrant community, he chose to raise his family in Erie because he sees the potential in the region.
During his five years as chair, Jim prioritized reaching voters across Erie County, including areas often ignored by candidates and campaigns. He also oversaw an increase in voter participation in every election during his time.
Jim is running to represent Pennsylvania's 49th Senate District, a top-targeted district in 2024, which includes most of Erie County, the bellwether county of Pennsylvania.
