My name is La’Mont Williams and I’m running for the Chicago Public School Board to represent the 9^th District. A little about me: I grew up in Auburn Gresham and Ashburn. I am proud CPS alum and attended Clissold Elementary, Ogden Elementary, and Lincoln Park High School. I also graduated from Upper Iowa University and Loyola University Law School. I proudly grew up and live in the 9^th district.

Public service guides every aspect of my life. I currently work as Chief of Staff and General Counsel for Cook County Commissioner Bill Lowry. As Chief of Staff and General Counsel I successfully drafted, analyzed, and pushed legislation at both the County and State level. I AM THE BEST CANDIDATE in this race with experience, abilities, and record to begin working for the 9^th District on day one in office. 

As a member of the CPS Board, I will prioritize reducing the current and unacceptable CPS budget deficit of over $505M. I will prioritize policies which are student first and do not place more burden on the district or taxpayers. I will be an independent vote and critical thinking member willing to ask the tough questions and hold the difficult conversation with everyone to best represent the 9^th district!
