Thank you for donating to our campaign. It means the world to me to have earned your support. Your faith in me has been the fuel that has allowed me to fight with urgency to improve the daily lives of my neighbors throughout Somerville. As a City Councilor, I've passed a dozen laws on everything from expanding tenant rights, enhancing street safety, ensuring police accountability, expanding accessibility, reducing barriers to affordable housing, and creating protections for trans and polyamorous folks. As mayor, I will put that same energy into creating vibrant neighborhoods with affordable and accessible housing, fostering community-led development that doesn't lead to displacement, and improving the transparency and communication of government.
In order to have a mayor who is a renter, who has been in a union, and who will fight with urgency for working people, though, we need to build a movement. We will do so with love, the sweat equity of canvassers, and (yes) the donations of everyday people striving to make our city an economically stronger, safer, more sustainable place for all. Your donations will allow us to contact our neighbors throughout the city with campaign literature, mailers that will cost tens of thousands of dollars, and the help of campaign staff that will be paid well. We will invest those funds into making this a fun and inclusive campaign so that Somervillens can regain faith in the promise that government can actually be a force for good.
In keeping with our values, our campaign will reject money from:
Instead, we will build this movement with love, sweat equity, and (yes) the donations of everyday people striving to make our city a stronger, safer, more stable place for all. We need your contributions so that we can contact our neighbors in all parts of the community through campaign literature, yard signs, and paid campaign staff. We will invest those funds into making this a fun and inclusive process so that Somervillens will feel the joy of building community together. Thank you for your support!
