The current US Senate is controlled by Democrats via a 51-49 majority. With Sen Manchin's retirement, Democrats must hold all existing seats to even have a 50-50 Senate in the next Congress. (Democrats could only control the Senate if Biden is re-elected as President, as the Vice-President would be the tie-breaking vote.)
It is critical that Democrats successfully defend every. single. seat. listed below. All of them are held by Democrats, and all of them are going to be tight and challenging races. Ideally, we could also win Texas (and/or maybe Florida), the easiest (but most expensive) potential states to gain a seat in the Senate.
By donating to this campaign, your money will go to the most important (and winnable) Senate races for Democrats to win in 2024.
MUST Defend:
- Pennsylvania (Bob Casey)
- Wisconsin (Tammy Baldwin)
- Ohio (Sherrod Brown)
- Michigan [Elisa Slotkin - most likely nominee]
- Nevada (Jacky Rosen)
- Montana (Jon Tester)
- Arizona (Ruben Gallego, currently held by Sinema)
Win:
With Democratic control of the Senate, Democrats will control:
- Supreme Court nominations
- Judicial nominations throughout the country
- which legislation even gets voted on by the US Senate
It's critical that Democrats win control of the Senate on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024.
