Welead OC PAC was created to seek Progressive Women Democrats to run for city council and school board seats, become active with campaigns/communities and to work as campaign professionals. Welead OC PAC focuses on Women of Color, first-time candidates, Moms and LGBTQA+ and those with fire and passion.
Our mission is not about identity politics. Nor is it about giving women "a voice." Women make up more than one half of the population but less than one-half of the decision/policy-makers.
City Council and School Board candidates are playing on an unlevel field, giving way to federal, state and county candidates. They are the last rung on the ladder to receive party, institutional and donor support.
Welead OC PAC is here to help level the field by giving our candidates the structural, financial and mentoring support they need and deserve, as we help to build the next generation of leaders.
Welead OC PAC does not accept corporate, developer PAC or lobbyist money. Neither do our candidates. We are truly People-Powered, wholly dependent upon the support of grassroots and community donors.
