Gray wolves in the Northern Rockies are being targeted by hunters and trappers with few--if any--limits. In Idaho, the State approved hiring contractors to use neck strangulation snares and aerial gunning to kill unlimited wolves. In Wyoming, a wolf was tortured and killed after being run down by a snowmobiler who paraded her through a local bar while she was dying from her injuries.
And now Congress is attempting to strip gray wolves of protections nationwide. This is happening while the USFWS has dragged its feet on this issue, despite Interior Secretary Haaland's assurances to, "find solutions that allow wolves to flourish."
We are keeping the pressure on the Administration to act to save these wolves and to allow wolves around the country to come back to their former homes safely--while working to stop legislation in Congress to strip them of protections.
