In a deeply troubling move, the Supreme Court of Florida upheld the 15-week ban, therefore a 6-week abortion ban went into effect May 1, 2024.


For all purposes, this is a near-total abortion ban, and will require the majority of people needing abortion care to travel out of state.This means that 90% of the women that the Women’s Emergency Network serves will be faced with increased distress in addition to an increased financial burden, as they are forced to travel across the country for care.
