UltraViolet Action

Supreme Court vs. women

If we’ve learned one thing in the last week, it’s this: The Supreme Court matters. A lot.

We fought for years to pass a law guaranteeing access to contraception. Then, poof! Just like that, the Supreme Court just threw it out.

Why? Because as Justice Kennedy literally said during arguments, birth control is just "not that important." In other words, they don't think women deserve access to birth control. So tough luck, ladies.

The right wing understands how powerful the courts are, and they’ve spent years working to get conservative ideologues onto the Supreme Court. It's time for progressives to get serious about judges too.

And with three justices over 75 years old, we have a great chance of overturning the current 5-4 right-wing majority in the next few years--if we fight for it. Will you chip in to help demand a Supreme Court and federal judiciary that respects women?
