Council Member Won is an immigrant and mother who has spent the last four years representing New Yorkers from all over the world. Julie is the first woman, immigrant, and mother to represent District 26.

In just four years on the City Council, Julie delivered over $2 billion in investment and resources to her district, passed the historic OneLIC neighborhood rezoning, and approved more affordable housing development in her district than all of Queens County over the last decade. While serving as Chair of the Committee on Contracts, Julie was a watchdog against corruption and waste on over $25 billion worth of City contracts annually--while also fighting to increase the number of minority & women owned businesses awarded City contracts.

Prior to being elected into the New York City Council, she worked at IBM for almost a decade modernizing federal civilian agencies as well as consulting for Fortune 500 companies. By leveraging her technology background, she implemented Big Apple Connect to provide free internet for all NYC public housing residents.
