Congresswoman Underwood serves on the House Appropriations Committee, is in House Leadership as the Co-Chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, and is the Co-Finance Chair for the DCCC.
She was the youngest Black woman elected to Congress, and the first Black Woman since Shirley Chisholm (1977) to be elected to House Leadership.
