Support the West Virginia Community Bail Fund!
The West Virginia Community Bail Fund posts bail in order to free incarcerated people in the state of West Virginia. We believe no one should be locked in a cage, especially those being held pretrial who are legally innocent and simply cannot afford their freedom. Regional jails in West Virginia, which are notorious for over crowding and harsh conditions, are full of people facing these circumstances.
We see the carceral system as an extension of exploitive extraction, which has long shaped the social, political and economic landscape in West Virginia. Fighting to end cash bail and oppressive jails is a critical part of a more just future for our state, region, and world.
The West Virginia Bail Fund is entirely volunteer-run. All donations go directly to bail, support upon release, and overhead costs of maintaining the project.
