We’re rebooting the gig economy — join us
In the past few moths, Instacart workers and DoorDash workers have organized with Working Washington, sparked a national media sensation about pay and tips in the gig economy, and transformed the entire pay model of two different multi-billion-dollar corporations.
It only gets bigger from there. More than 10,000 gig workers have come together to launch the #PayUp campaign — three big demands to unite workers across all different apps and reboot the gig economy:
- $15 + expenses: Establish a pay floor of $15 plus expenses for every hour spent on an active job.
- Tips on top: Eliminate tip theft by ensuring that tips are a supplement to pay, not a substitute.
- Pay transparency: Provide a detailed breakdown of time, mileage, pay, and other info for each job.
These are big demands, but workers have created a real opportunity here to reboot the the gig economy. And the only reason that happened is because of the support we get grassroots supporters like you.
Workers are coming together around a vision to sustain the flexibility and convenience that the gig economy promises — while also making sure our economy works for more than just CEOs & investors.
