Contribute Now to Tim Toomey - State Representative

Dear Neighbor:

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your State Representative. I am asking for your vote on Tuesday, November 6th because I want to continue to be your voice on Beacon Hill. With your support, I will continue to bring better transportation to Cambridge and Somerville and make our community a safer place to live, work and raise a family. I will advocate on your behalf to keep property taxes low, foster sustainable development in our neighborhoods, and make our roads safer and more accessible for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists alike.

In the coming term, I will continue to:

◦Advocate for a full extension of the Green Line through Somerville and refuse to accept alternatives that do not live up to the promises that were made to us before the Big Dig

◦Work with community groups and the Mass Department of Transportation to ground McGrath Highway and reconnect our neighborhoods

◦Support efforts to redevelop Union Square that make property and business owners an integral part of the process

◦Advocate for the creation of a multi-use path along the Grand Junction Railroad

◦Work with community groups and developers to facilitate a sustainable redevelopment of Lechmere Square, including a safe pedestrian crossing and a new public market

◦Promote local businesses and actively support the efforts of local business associations

◦Be open, accessible, and provide excellent services to my constituents

In the last two years, I led the successful opposition to a plan that would have run commuter rail trains through the heart of our community. I voted to protect the collective bargaining rights of workers, and I was a part of the committee that produced the most progressive health care law in the country. I worked tirelessly with my colleagues to pass legislation that will get shovels in the ground on the construction of the Green Line Extension by the end of this year, and I took unpopular stands against attacks on the poor and our community’s immigrants.

Now, I need your help. We need strong, principled leadership on Beacon Hill, and I would be grateful for any help you can give me during this campaign. Click contact to get in touch, or simply watch this site for upcoming announcements about how you can get involved in our campaign.

Your Neighborhood, Your Voice has always been more than just a campaign slogan. It is my pledge to continue to fight for the issues that are important to you. I am asking for your vote on Tuesday, November 6th so we can continue to make our community a better place.
