The Young Democrats of Illinois serves as the official youth arm of the Illinois Democratic Party. Our membership includes Democrats ages 14 to 36, united by a shared commitment to organizing, advocacy, and electing leaders who reflect our values. YDI empowers young people to engage directly in the political process, through campaign work, organizing training, and leadership development, to ensure the future of the Democratic Party is strong, inclusive, and driven by the next generation.

Our Goals: YDI has been revitalized under a newly elected executive board. Our mission is to rebuild and expand YDI chapters across the state, fostering the growth of young leaders who will power and strengthen Democratic campaigns.

We aim to:

● Develop young organizers and campaign staff through training and mentorship.

● Support emerging Democratic candidates in their first runs for office. Partner with labor, civic, and community organizations to advance shared values of fairness, opportunity, and worker rights.

● Serve as a foundation for both established and young elected officials, helping them succeed in both their political and legislative work.

What’s Next: We are a dynamic, politically experienced leaders, dedicated to rebuilding YDI into a robust statewide organization. Together, we will engage young Democrats in every region of Illinois, mobilizing them around elections, issue advocacy, and public service.

In a moment when young workers, students, and voters are ready to move from frustration to action, YDI stands ready to channel that energy into meaningful political impact, alongside all of our advocacy partners.
