Section 1: Any person of at least fourteen (14) years of age and under forty (40) years of age who professes and demonstrates allegiance to the principles of the Democratic Party shall be eligible for membership.
Section 2: There shall be no membership discrimination based upon factors such as gender, race, color, national origin, ethnic heritage, religion, disability, age, or sexual orientation.
Section 3: There shall be two categories of members within the YDSC.
- Voting Membership shall be extended to any dues paying individual who is a resident or domiciliary in Seminole County, or a student of a fully accredited high school, college, university or institution of higher learning in Seminole County, Florida. Only U.S. Citizens over the age of 18 may make contributions to the YDSC, in accordance with federal, state and local election laws, which prevents non-citizens from becoming voting members. Voting members shall have the right to vote, make motions, and shall be eligible for all other privileges associated with membership.
- Non-Voting Membership shall be extended to any individual who qualifies under Article III section 1, but cannot pay dues for any reason, such as citizenship status, financial hardship, etc. Membership dues shall be $20 annually, to be paid during the month of January, unless a member joins later in the year.
Contribution rules
- I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
- I am at least eighteen years old.
- This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
