After many years of organizing, a multi-generational coalition of tenants, mobile home residents, and homeowners won protections against the rising cost of living. The Santa Ana City Council finally listened to the experiences of hundreds of families and seniors and passed a law limiting rent increases to no more than 3% per year. However, because this law was enacted by the City Council, it can also be removed by the City Council. If the majority were ever not in favor of rent control, the law could be repealed. As of now, it would only take one corrupt City Council member working for special interest groups to be the deciding factor on whether or not a renter majority city has protections against predatory rent increases. 

That is why Measure CC is on the ballot - to defend these hard fought renter protections. If the majority of voters in Santa Ana vote yes to adopt the rent stabilization and just cause ordinance, then the law can only be amended or repealed by the voters. 

With just a couple weeks until Election Day, amidst a massive disinformation campaign led by those who profit off of residents not knowing the truth, we need your support to make flyers, mailers, and get the real information to the people.
