YUCCA's Climate Emergency Campaign

embed errored

According to the world's leading scientists - the window for climate action to stabilize our planet, is closing. 2030 is the deadline they've set for us to reverse our emissions trends and drastically cut emissions. According to the IPCC - we cannot achieve these deep cuts while building new fossil fuel investments.

Right now NM is on track to reduce emissions by 1% by 2025 according to the climate emissions report by the Environmental Defense Fund.

Seriously y'all! This is pathetic and devastating. Our political leaders are failing us and pretending to be climate champions. We have to hold them accountable.

After the state's largest wildfires and devastating floods and a summer of record heat - the signs are undeniable that we are in a climate emergency. We need to make sure the Governor and our legislators stop the greenwashing, stop pandering to industry, and support a people-powered and led climate plan.

We as young people have had enough. We will not stand by while adults in power sell off and bargain away our future.

We will not allow New Mexico, one of the largest oil producer in the United States - to extract and emit the carbon reserves in the Permian Basin.

We are organizing our peers and building a strong movement of coalitions.

We need community members like you, especially those with resources, to invest NOW to SAVE OUR FUTURE!

Please join in this movement.

We need all hands on deck.
