For decades, Shelley Moore Capito and her family have ruled West Virginia like feudal lords passing power down like heirlooms while our towns crumbled and our people suffered.

She’s watched addiction ravage our communities, jobs vanish, and hospitals close, all while cashing checks from lobbyists and corporations that profit off our pain.

She’s forgotten her roots in West Virginia because she’s bought and sold by D.C. We don’t need another hollow name clinging to power. We need someone who knows our hollers and backroads, not just the inside of a lobbyist’s wallet or the tread of Trump’s shoe.

Zach is a Marine Corps veteran, the grandson of a coal miner, a working-class Democrat, a father, and a proud West Virginian. As a Marine, he proudly lived by the values of honor, courage and commitment—and he still does today. He is a community organizer and co-founder of Bluejay Rising. In the first campaign for the U.S. Senate, he received 36 percent of the vote, winning the forgotten part of West Virginia.

He pioneered a new way of campaigning, focusing on mutual aid, not as charity but as solidarity and a more authentic way to reach voters while building lasting relationships. In the era of vanity campaigns and vibes-only political brands, Zach’s candidacy is selfless and down-to-earth, but also spirited and fearless.
