Hello, I'm Margarito "Mickey" Zapata, a dedicated public servant and community leader, committed to steering Caldwell County towards positive growth and a secure future. As a lifelong resident of Fentress, Texas, and a devoted husband and father, I deeply understand the unique needs and aspirations of our community.
My journey of service began at 17 as a volunteer firefighter with Tri-Community, a role I continue today while being a full-time Austin firefighter. The legacy of commitment runs in my family - my father served as Caldwell County Constable and established Zapata’s Upholstery, a family business I've proudly managed since his passing.
With 19 years on the Prairie Lea ISD school board, including 8 years as President, I've honed the leadership skills vital for the role of County Commissioner. In this position, I pledge unwavering transparency and a hands-on approach to addressing each town's specific challenges within our Precinct.
Our community stands on the brink of significant growth. As County Commissioner, I am committed to guiding this development to benefit us all. I humbly ask for your vote, and thank you for your support.
