State Senator Zellnor Myrie has served New York Senate District 20 since 2019. Since joining the Senate, Zellnor has won several major legislative victories, including the landmark expansion of early voting, New York’s strongest affordable housing and tenant protection laws, sweeping reforms to New York’s criminal legal system, and the nation’s first state law holding the gun industry accountable.
This year, Zellnor has introduced the New York Civil Rights Act, a comprehensive bill that would give everyday New Yorkers the right to sue federal agents who violate their rights. As chair of the NY Senate Codes Committee, Zellnor is leading the fight to build a fairer, safer, and better New York while ensuring our democracy endures these grave challenges.
