I am nearing the end of my first year in office serving as your State Representative. It has been a year marked by challenges and opportunities, but all in all a remarkably rewarding experience. I love what I do and believe that I am making a positive difference for our community.
As I grow in the job, I am learning that fundraising is an important part of serving in public office for a wide variety of reasons. For one thing, there are a number of expenses that are not covered by the state, including constituent case management software to give just one example. This must be paid out of my campaign fund. I am also continuing to retire campaign debt from last year’s election and the next election is less than one year away. The financial support of the community plays a large role in helping me to be an effective public servant on your behalf.
