Get Your Tickets for BAND Fundraiser Honoring Women
Women are angry at recent Republican proposals to turn back the clock for them, but BAND will be celebrating women of all stripes on the night before Mother's Day, Saturday, May 12. The Women Unite Celebration will be at the banquet room at Mario's, 618 West NASA Parkway, between Texas Avenue and Highway 3. Doors open at 6 p.m., and dinner begins at 6:30.
Ticket prices are $20, if purchased by May 7, or $25 afterwards. BAND is offering a new alternative for payment online. Go to the ActBlue link, https://secure.actblue.com/entity/fundraiser/29351, and pay $20.12 for your ticket on a charge card by May 7. (The unusual amount is to distinguish ticket purchases from donations and memberships.) You can also purchase tickets by mailing a check for $20 to Treasurer, Bay Area New Democrats, P.O. Our featured speaker will be Yvonne Gutierrez of Planned Parenthood. Other invited guests include Commissioner Sylvia Garcia, U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, State Rep. Carol Alvarado and State Rep. Jessica Farrar.
The restaurant will serve an Italian dinner with water, tea and coffee. A cash bar, and to-go boxes for guests who cannot stay for dinner, will be available.
The event is a fundraiser to help pay for BAND's 2012 campaign headquarters.
