Help us Spread the News

I love it when a reporter writes what I actually say—not just shoe-horns my quote into some storyline the reporter is pursuing. So, I am pleased when the Idaho Statesman used this quote from me before our convention:

“Lambasting what happened to the Republicans is not leadership. We’re not going to fight each other but work on solutions to education, the economy and raising our citizens’ standard of living. That’s what we want to accomplish at our convention.”

—IDP Chairman Larry Kenck, Idaho Statesman, June 20, 2014

And that’s what we did! Watch the video version of our platform and see if you agree!

Idaho Dems can be proud of the work we did. We unanimously passed a concise, eloquent platform—in both English and Spanish. And, yes, that stood in stark contrast to the debacle of the Idaho GOP Convention that ended with shouting and walkouts and without any work getting accomplished.

We worked together and showed Idaho what can happen when people set aside their differences, LISTEN TO EACH OTHER, and work with goodwill to solve a problem.

The other great thing about our platform is that our exceptional candidates can run on it. They can use it as a guide for including people, not excluding them. It’s what our candidates were hoping for and it’s what Idaho Dems gave them.

Our work has barely begun! We have momentum, vitality and even this state’s conservative media are coming around to the idea that 2014 is our year. We have honest, experienced leaders who are running for office.

We can’t slow down now! If we are to take advantage of this great year for us, we need to give the candidates the resources they need to win. That means contributions. You can bet that entrenched GOP interests and upstart Tea Party folks are going to fight hard to their grip on Idaho. It will take every single one of us to frustrate their efforts and to give Idaho the leaders we need.

Please help with a contribution of $500, $250, $100, or $50. Or just give what you can. We’ll make sure every dollar goes toward electing an Idaho Democrat and making Idaho’s future as bright as it can be.
