This is it, our final appeal for candidates before Election Day on November 4th. Thank you so much to everyone who's donated already. If you've been waiting to contribute or you can spare a little more for a global candidate, this is your last chance. Our candidates today have shown through their actions that the U.S. needs to work together with other nations to solve the global problems we face. Please help them win on November 4th!

Tom Udall

NM-Sen

For the past ten years, New Mexico's Tom Udall has championed the cause of global cooperation in the U.S. House of Representatives. With Sen. Pete Domenici retiring, Udall is looking to take that next step to Senator. In his career, he's consistently scored A or above on our Congressional Report Card. On our 2008 candidate questionnaire, he said "I believe that our nation continues to have an important role to play as a global leader on a variety of issues. However, our actions must involve other international leaders. The U.S. no longer can afford to act unilaterally without any regard for other nations." Backing these words up with action, he's voted to address climate change, against legislation that sought to ban U.S. cooperation with the ICC and against new nuclear weapons development. Let's send him to the Senate next month!

Emanuel Cleaver

MO-05

Emanuel Cleaver remains a global leader after his first two terms as the Representative from Missouri's 5th District. He has been steadfast in his devotion to international human rights, especially in Darfur. In 2006, he cosponsored the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act and urged the President to appoint a Special Envoy to Sudan. He has called for a robust U.N. peacekeeping mission to be deployed as soon as possible, with a NATO force to protect civilians as the U.N. force ramps up. At the start of his second term, he was appointed to the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming. Congressman Cleaver is an emerging leader who believes in Citizens for Global Solutions values. He's the type of Congressman we need to keep in Washington.

Darcy Burner

WA-08

Darcy Burner wants to bring her untiring motivation, technical expertise and management experience to bear in Congress. There, she wants to address climate change through cooperative international efforts, prohibit torture and stop new nuclear weapons development. She supports the U.S. working with the International Criminal Court as well as funding U.N. peacekeeping efforts. Burner also backs calls for creating a U.N. Emergency Peace Service to provide "first responder" services in international humanitarian disasters, be they natural or human-made. Let's help her win a chance to become one of our next global leaders.
