Pass the Climate Change Education Act

Goal thermometer

Our goal is to elect and re-elect legislators developing solutions to global warming problems. We need your help and they deserve your support.

Support the Climate Change Education Act because it will create a Climate Change Education Program in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to broaden the understanding of human-induced climate change, possible long and short-term consequences, and potential solutions. The program will promote education about national strategies for resilience to counter the effects of climate change, including extreme weather events and rising sea levels, to make sure our infrastructure - including the energy and transportation sectors – is safe and reliable in the future. The latest scientific and technological discoveries will be implemented to provide formal and informal learning opportunities to people of all ages, including those of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (NH) has reintroduced a wide-ranging energy bill that would promote energy efficiency buildings and appliances.

“We know energy efficiency is the cheapest fastest way to deal with our energy needs,” said Shaheen in a phone interview, “so I’m really hopeful that we have some additional sponsors on the bill that we’re able this time to get it through the senate and have a good reception in the house.”

With the tweaks – which also include provisions allowing third parties to certify energy star appliances, and one that asks HUD to perform energy retrofits on low-income housing – the senator says the bill now has the 60 votes it needs to overcome a filibuster.

Your contribution to Global Warming Solutions IE-PAC will go to championing two global warming solutions - The Climate Change Education Act and The Shaheen and Portman Energy Efficiency Bill.
