We got to know NC State Rep. Marcus Brandon a few years ago as a maverick legislator who wasn't afraid to go it alone. He took some real lumps as the first Democratic supporter of a bill that eventually eliminated the state's charter cap with broad, bipartisan support.
For that, we named him our Ed Reformer of the Month for August 2011.
This kind of thing would be great in D.C., right? Well, Marcus recently announced that he's running for congress so we're naming him our Ed Reformer of the Month again.
Marcus has his first campaign finance deadline as a congressional candidate this Sunday, June 30th. The public filings after that deadline will be critical for defining the success of his candidacy.
Would you join me in contributing $25 to support his effort?
Thanks for your generosity.
