Democrats won a majority of seats to the New York state Senate in 2012. But a group of renegade "Democrats" caucused with the GOP, throwing control of the state Senate to the Republicans and killing a slew of progressive legislation—including a fracking ban, a minimum wage raise, paid medical leave, and campaign finance reform.

This year, we have a chance to retake the New York Senate and elect a real Democratic majority.
