I have one goal in mind for this page: To make marriage equality a reality in California.

Though the California legislature is majority Democrat, the bill last year to make marriage equality for gays and lesbians a reality barely passed. Of course it was then vetoed by our Republican Governor.

To make marriage equality a reality in this state... and to DIRECTLY affect my family for the better, we need to make the California Senate and Assembly more Democratic and supportive. There is one Senate seat and 2-3 Assembly seats that could be switched from Republican (an anti-gay vote) to Democrat . Enough of a margin to make a vote next year a comfortable reality.

And the Governor's race: Angelides. He is supportive of marriage equality, and a win for him will be a win for my family.

The bill will pass and the governor will sign and marriage equality will be a reality, the first time it is VOTED into reality in this country.

So donate, even 5 dollars. Anything.

The KNITTING IN BLUE MARATHON: For every 2 dollars donated, I will knit one row towards an afghan. This completed afghan will be donated to Afghans for Afghans to help the poor of Afghanistan. (and if you donate a lot, I'll knit something for you :).

You can keep up on the marathon at my blog.

The Governator: enough said.

Well, not enough. Though he has signed some LGBT rights legislation, he vetoed THE LGBT rights legislation, marriage equality.

Angelides is an excellent overall candidate and a full supporter of LGBT rights.

Lets replace the governator.

Wiley Nickel

CA-SD-12

Running for the state senate seat currently held by Republican Denham, who votes against just about every LGBT rights bill, including marriage equality.

This district is actually slightly more Democrat than Republican and could be switched! Just needs some money and publicity.

Wiley Nickel looks like a great candidate and I'll update more later.

Terry Coleman

CA-HD-15

more later, but this is a swing district for the assembly, one of the few, now held by a anti-gay rights Republican.

Kenneth Goeken

CA-HD-26

more later, but this is a swing district for the assembly, one of the few, now held by a anti-gay rights Republican.

Maxine Sherard

CA-HD-78

more later, but this is a swing district for the assembly, one of the few, now held by a anti-gay rights Republican.
