Please join Owen Perkins for an evening at the theater for the World Premiere of Just Like Us, the adaptation of Helen Thorpe's best selling book. This true story of four Mexican girls coming of age in Denver won the Colorado Book Award and was noted by the Washington Post as "one of the best books of 2009." The book offered a unique perspective on contemporary immigration issues, and the Denver Center's adaptation is certain to be one of the theatreical highlights of the year and an important voice in the ongoing discussion of immigration reform.
Sunday's Opening Weekend performance also features a special "Talk Back" session after the play with members of the cast discussing the challenges of bringing the book to the stage. The "Talk Back" session begins shortly after the play ends, on stage in the Stage Theater.
