Last week San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom was a guest on the radio show Fernando and Greg radio show. He stressed the danger that Proposition 8 might get enough support to pass in California (No on 8 lead is eroding in polls) and he encouraged me to do something to prevent this from happening.
If Proposition 8 passes, it will use the CA state constitution to take rights away from a group of people. It’s blatant discrimination. Regardless of your party affiliation or even your beliefs on gay marriage, the bottom line is that this is a civil rights issue.
Proponents have raised over $30 million dollars, a large portion from out-of-state anti-gay organizations. This money is funding misleading and dishonest television and radio ads to scare voters. To fight back we must raise money to educate voters about the truth. So that's why I'm asking you to help me raise $300 through this personal fundraising page, even $5 will help.
The campaign needs this money to run new ads like this one: <a href"http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b64476_ellen_takes_disapproval_of_prop_8s.html"> Ellen Takes Disapproval of Prop 8's Message to TV so that voters know what is at stake on election day. Even if you live outside of CA it's important to show the proponents of Prop 8, that they aren't the only ones who can raise money out of state.
Thanks for your support! :)
