Dear Friend,
As a native of Springfield, I am looking to give back to the city that I am from. Raised in the Pine Point region of the city by an RN and Human Services worker, I know what it means to want to give back. I began my educational journey as a Balliet bear and ended as an alumnus of Boston College, representing the American bald eagle.
I came back home and I gave back.
In the past few years, I have canvassed for President Obama, organized for Senator Warren, and coordinated the two Western MA counties that gubernatorial candidate and former Medicare chief Dr. Don Berwick won. Today, I serve as the Grants and Contracts Coordinator for the YWCA of Western MA; a non-profit that shelters victims of intimate partner violence and their children and is committed to providing empowering programs for those at-risk.
With much consideration and with the support of family and friends alike, I have decided to run for City Councilor of Ward 5. I see a great deal of potential in Springfield and I want to work alongside my peers to make sure our streets are safe and our residents are heard on a consistent basis.
As I kick-off my campaign, I ask you to help me help Springfield.
Your early contribution, in the suggested amounts of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, or $1,000 will help me raise the funds needed to launch my campaign. I cannot do it alone and with your help, I will work diligently towards bringing fresh ideas to one of the most beautiful wards in the city.
Thank you in advance for your encouragement and support,
Marcus J. Williams
