On November 6, Minnesotans will confront an amendment that attempts to permanently limit marriage in our state constitution to unions between one man and one woman. 31 other states have faced similar amendments, and in all 31 states the amendments have passed. Minnesota is poised to be the first state to say no to limiting the freedom to marry for same-sex couples. But we need your help.
Every day, the dedicated and passionate team at Minnesotans United for All Families is fighting the constitutional amendment. We’ve started the largest grassroots campaign that Minnesota has ever seen, with over 19,000 individual donors and offices across the state. Our volunteers have had conversations with hundreds of thousands of voters about why marriage matters. And we know our strategy is working. We’ve seen success in the polls in all areas, with voters young and old, democratic and republican, and people of every faith. A recent poll shows that opposition to the amendment that would limit the freedom to marry is growing, with 49 percent of Minnesotans ready to vote no in November.
Freedom to Marry, a national coalition dedicated to winning marriage for same-sex couples nation-wide has recognized Minnesota as a state with one of the best chances to protect marriage. They’re willing to match up to $100,000 of your donations, which means there’s no better time than now to donate. With your support today, we know that can win in November. Say no to the Minnesota Marriage amendment; say no to hate.
