Larry Grant is courageously running in one of the deepest-red districts in the nation. But he's got a lot going for him. For one, Idaho is an incredibly cheap place to do business, so your dollars go along way here. For another, this is an open seat, and, in fact, a Democrat held this district until 1994.
Then there's Grant's opponent, Bill Sali, one of the most despised Republicans in the state, including by members of his own party. Indeed, prominent disaffected GOPers have gotten behind the Democrat with a group called "Republicans for Grant." And, finally, the local netroots scene is positively on fire. See below for more.
