Tom Perriello is in a tough district that voted for John McCain and George Bush. He is a freshman representative who is being heavily targeted by the national Republican Party.
But today he voted yes on the American Clean Energy and Security Act, a landmark bill that for the first time in Congress's history would take comprehensive action against climate change, despite 44 of his fellow Democrats voting NO. Only three of them did that beacuse they thought the bill should be stronger.
It took a lot of courage and conviction to make that vote. But he did. And we need to reward leaders when they have conviction and stand up for what's right. Whatever you can give makes a difference, and donating now will help give Tom the money to build another grassroots campaign in 2010. We need to keep leaders like Tom in Congress. Donate today. 5, 10, 25, 100, 1000, 2000. Whatever you can afford.
