The ballot description for Proposition 8 makes it perfectly clear. Prop 8 "eliminates the right of same sex couples to marry."
No On Prop 8, Equality For All is the coalition that is leading the fight to defeat Prop 8 and defend the fundamental right to marry for all Californians. Right now, according to the latest poll, it is losing the fight. Churches and conservative organizations around the country are pouring dollars into California in order to change its constitution in a way that will take away a right for same-sex couples to marry, possibly forever. The good people at No on Prop 8 need help funding the fight against hate and intolerance. Help me help them. Together we can make a difference. Contribute to my fundraising page today!
Update: My friend Tiffany in Vacaville reports she and her husband have been working with the local pride center and, if you are in the area and need lawn signs, she can probably get you some. Email me and I'll put you in contact.
Another update: You may be wondering why I haven't contributed to the page yet. Actually I made several small, $20 donations to the No on 8 committee before I got the bright idea of setting up the page and asking my friends for help. And I tend to give when I'm inspired—like today when Sarah Palin said she'd push for a federal law defining marriage as only between a man and a woman. I do dislike that one.
