California Proposition 8 is perfectly clear: it is a constitutional amendment to eliminate the right to marry to a group of citizen. It is wrong. It is discrimination. It is negative to the growth of humanity. Join me and Vote No on 8.
As good citizens, we pay our tax, and we follow the law. Why should we be treated differently? Why should a teenager be afraid to live his/her live because she is not accepted as being gay? Why should do we have this division if we don't fit the rest of the crowd? The marriages between same sex partners make the marriage stronger for all, make our humanity stronger. Shouldn't the Church fight divorce instead of marriage between committing & loving couples? In the state of Oklahoma, over 50% of marriages end in divorce...that is scarier than same-sex wedding, isn't it?
Here is a word from Lisa, a friend of mine (and a Catholic) about the opportunity Californians will have on 11/4/2008: "I am not gay and am a mom of two with a traditional nuclear family. I am offended by how human beings can treat each other. We all have the capacity at one time or another, but when it comes down to it, we hope that we all hope that in the end, we behaved honorably in our life. It takes time for people to change and recognize people who seemed scary and unequal, to be really all the same underneath, as was once the case for the country to recognize the rights of African Americans during the Civil War."
Please view the YouTube video of the very Republican mayor of San Diego. How can anyone tell one of his children that his/her marriage is less worthy than his/her other children's?
No On Prop 8, Equality For All is the coalition that is leading the fight to defeat Prop 8 and defend the fundamental right to marry for all Californians. Help me help them. Contribute to my fundraising page today!
The Catholic Church is wrongly supporting Prop 8. Is Rome now ruling the citizen of California? Jesus said "render to Cesar what belongs to Cesar and render to God what belongs to God". This is separation of State & Church. State your opposition to this discriminative Constitutional Amendment by voting No on Prop 8. Make a donation today to help get the message around the citizen of California. Thank you.
