FW: Postcrecent.com: "Assembly approves anti-abortion bills"

Goal thermometer

Dear Friend:

By now you've seen it in the newspaper and on TV this morning - the Republican controlled legislature went ahead and passed three of these horrible bills attacking women's health, the same bills that my colleague, Rep. Chris Taylor, warned against last week.

My fellow Assembly Democrats and I debated and argued against these three bills for eight hours yesterday, but common sense fell on the deaf ears of Republicans bound and determined to insert government into women's private health care decisions.

As the Appleton Post Crecent reports, this is part of a nationwide strategy, writing "Assembly Republicans approved a package of bills Thursday designed to make it more difficult to get abortions in Wisconsin, joining a renewed conservative drive to impose tougher restrictions on the procedure nationwide." (Postcrecent.com, 6/14/2013)

Stand with me against these needless attacks on women and help Assembly Democrats deliver that message to voters around Wisconsin by helping us today with your contribution of $100, $50, $25 or $10.

Just the day before, in the rush to pass these bills as quickly as possible and with little sane discussion, Republican Senate President Mike Ellis literally broke his gavel as he shouted down and shut down Democrats in that house that wanted to stand up for Wisconsin women.

Our only chance to put a stop to this consistant barrage of attacks on women, families and working people in Wisconsin is for us to elect more Democrats to the State Assembly. But we can't do that alone. We need your help to get the message out to voters in the next election.

Sincerely,

State Rep. Sandy Pasch Assistant Democratic Leader
