The Center for Working Families (CWF) Fund at Tides Foundation supports non-partisan program incubation, coalition building, organizing, leadership development, advocacy, and public education on policies that advance economic fairness, racial justice, gender equity, climate sustainability, and a democracy which is responsive to the needs of the many—not the greed of the wealthy and powerful few. Our long-term vision is a society rooted in equality, dignity, solidarity, and compassion.
CWF and our grantees have established a strong track record delivering material improvements in the lives of working and poor people. At the same time, we work to build multiracial populism, change the rules of the game, and expand the limits of public discourse toward more visionary goals. Our approach is multimodal, incorporating and empowering individuals, institutions, and social movements.
Perhaps more important than our impact on any single issue, we are helping to build the long-term infrastructure, power, and ideological alignment necessary to forge a more just and inclusive society.
