This year, for the first time, we are holding monthly statewide organizing meetings. The TXDWD Leadership Team is especially proud that we have grown while dealing with COVID-19. We are already planning our actions for the 87th Legislative session in January of 2021 to fight for Disability Justice. One of our key goals will be expanding regionally around Texas. 

Importance of Communications Tools in Disability Community: 

• We are always striving to make all of our meetings more accessible and inclusive. 
• During COVID-19 the disability community is high risk so we must organize virtually and we are a statewide organization 
• Right now we provide real-time captioning for our monthly caucus meetings at $150 per event. The expected cost for 2021 is $3,150
• Our expected 2021 communications budget for base tools like email, video conferencing, closed captioning is $4,500.

As we move into 2021, we look forward to continuing to fight to make Texas less hostile and more liveable for Texans with Disabilities.
